The Henriques family are no strangers to our camera. We have been documenting them since from their rehearsal dinner all the way to the birth of their second child. Of all the photoshoots that we have done together, this is the FIRST time that I have been able to see Addison for who she really is. You see, all of the other sessions were planned, posed, sit here and smile. Well, we got everything except the smiles. Addison is a very shy little girl…. or so I thought! For this session, there was no planning, no posing, no directing what so ever. The results to me was nothing but pure amazement! I mean, never in my wildest dreams could I have directed her to be so much fun, spontaneous and silly. That’s the thing with Documentary photography, when you take a step back and allow people to be themselves the pressure for perfection fades away. Yet, I would say that these moments are absolutely perfectly honest and true.
