Four Hours and a Family | a Vero Beach Birth Story

She pushed for 4 hours! YES! 4 hours! My new hero to say the least. It was a Sunday when Jordan went in for her monitoring and check up. As soon as she saw the results she knew she wasn’t going home and was in for a long night of being induced. At 37 weeks, the fluid was low and it was time for her baby boy to be delivered. By 8:30 a.m.  the next morning, Jordan was fully dilated and ready to push. When I walked into the room, I wasn’t surprised to see her mom by her bedside. In full honesty, I was in fact surprised to see that her dad would be staying in the room.  I couldn’t imagine it any other way. Little did she know that she would need the strength of not only her husband, but her mom AND dad to get her through the 4 tiring hours of pushing. Her support didn’t stop there. The nurses! WOW! Can I say that Indian River Medical has some of the most amazing, caring and supportive nurses ever! They worked tireless (and creatively) to bring the baby into the world safely. At 1:05pm. This perfect peanut was born at 5lbs 6oz and 18.5 inches long. Baby G. arrived into the world surround with such amazing love!! The waiting room was over flowed with people who stuck around waiting to love bomb this new family. Every birth that I have the honor of documenting is amazing, but this story, this family, this little boy, will forever have a huge piece of my heart.
