It was so amazing to catch up with this crew again! We start to feel like we apart of the family joining them on vacation. The kids have grown so much and a couple new once have joined the crew. My heart is full of absolute JOY looking through these family beach photos from the Driftwood in Vero Beach.
We discuss in great detail options for their family photoshoot, starting with “what is the main goal”. This tells us a lot about our client no matter the answer. We go over the pro’s and con’s of each option and ultimately allow the client to have the final say. As your family photographer, we want the absolute best for you. We want perfect weather no wind, beautiful light. We also want happy and relaxed family members. I am pretty sure that this is ideally what our clients would like as well. So what do you do during the summer when the pretty weather and light is AFTER kids bedtimes??? Well, you talk about the pros and cons and hope for the best.
This was such the dilemma for our returning clients this past July. Do we risk the kids being 1/2 asleep and cranky or do we risk it being too bright out? Well, we took a chance and did the family photos on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. As always, we arrived looking for shade and thank the good Lord, we found some. After some safe photos, we headed out of the shade and into the full sun on a very hot July day. Our clients were absolutely amazing!!! No complaining, had a great attitude and the results of that show. The queen of the crew, our client, was thrilled with the results and that was all that matters.
I will say that one of the nice things about this afternoon session was how beautiful the ocean looked! They were colors that we just don’t see during the golden hour.
The moral of the story is that you can plan everything “perfectly” but in the end what matters most are the people in the photo.
