We get to meet some of the most amazing people in our line of work. When booking a client, we just never know who it’s going to be. Each and every family has a unique story and bond. There is such a great joy in being able to bring those stories to life.
As with each client, we discussed the session and the photos afterwards. Like many of our clients, they wanted to keep their photos private and asked us not to share. In talking she said she may want to share some on a talk show that she was on. I didn’t think much of it and moved on with the fun details of the newborn session.
The session was beyond a dream! The entire family could not have been more kind, more easy going and we had the best morning with them. The photos came together almost effortlessly.
To my surprise, the show that she was referring to was not just a talk show… but THE TALK SHOW OF ALL TALK SHOWS…. The View! What a surprising, and a little terrifying to find out. I knew she mentioned possibly sharing the photo on the show. But, in my experience, people often forget to give photo credit. It sucks, but we are not photographers for the clout. We do this because we believe in preserving moments in time. My best friend asked me if I wanted to do a viewing party or get together… but I declined. Again, I didn’t think much of it. Once again, I was in shock and awe when my bestie sent me photos from the show. There is was… our business name next to photos that I was extremely proud of. A very cool moment in our career.
But to be honest, any time a client shows off their photos by posting onto social media or hangs them on the wall… it’s a moment of pure joy for us. We don’t share photos like we use too. Memories frozen in time are lost in the sea of other photos most likely never to be seen or enjoyed.
