When I received the call about documenting this adoption story, my heart immediately jumped!! Adoption is amazing to me. Just as amazing to me as a birth story. It’s a series of events that end with creating a family.
I warned the dad “I’m probably going to cry” He responded with “yea, me too!” The room was filled with family who were there to support this baby “L”. They waited patiently, while baby “L” had other plans, none which included sitting still! The Judge arrived and began to speak passionately and with joy about what was about to happen. With tears, I look over and the dad says to me “Crying already?”
There were 3 other families who were also there celebrating the same occasion. One by one each family was unified in front of the Judge. The moment arrived and baby “L” was about to officially become apart of this family. I think more time was spent laughing as they chased him around the room than there was officiating.
