Bevard Family Beach Session

This is by far the most emotional photo shoot I have ever done in our 8 years of business!  This sweet family has made a lasting impact on us and how we view our life and our photography. Earlier this year, this family lost theirhusband/father/best-friend to Acute Leukemia. I was in absolute shock to hear this news as we just did their 2013 Christmas family session a few months prior. Acute Leukemia is a fast acting cancer and did not give this family much timeto process what was going on. During this recent photo shoot, Erin showed me her necklace and told me how Rusty gave it to her on the day he was admitted to the hospital. It was also the day of their Anniversary.  Not long afterthat, Rusty lost his short battle with the rare cancer. Hello Tears!  I was thankful for my sunglasses as the waterworks began to erupt. The joy was quickly brought back into the session as Ace came running up laughing and gigglingas he always does. This little man, Ace, is who we document pictures for. While yes, parents mostly think that the pictures are what they want, we know that these photos that we provide are the family’s legacy. Ace will only know hisfather through the stories that he is told and the photos that he see’s.  As a photographer, I find great comfort in knowing that I have been able to capture some of those moments. I pray that one day, Ace will find comfort inlooking at the photos of his father from our time together. Rusty loved Ace and Erin so much. He was always so great at getting natural smiles out of both of them. Although Rusty’s physical body was not with us during this session, he was still able to make the moments so special!

We would like to invite you over to Mid Coast Tires Facebook page. Mid Coast Tires is owned by the Bevard family and located on US1 in Vero Beach. They are helping out the Sims family who also lost a loved one this year to Acute Leukemia. 10% of sales will be donated when you mention the Sims Family.
